project life | valentine’s week

This is Week 8 of Project Life 2012.  I haven’t posted since Week 1! Weeks 2 thru 7 are mostly put together, I just need to add the journaling to them. Hoping to get to wrap those up soon so I can get caught up. I think I talk about “catching up” all the time. Ideally, I’d like to be able to work on PL consistently, on a weekly basis so things are still fresh in my mind. I just haven’t quite figured out how to get on that track and maybe I might not ever get to that point?  That’s ok too I suppose, because of the way project life is set up, it’s so easy to catch up a few weeks at a time.

This is the week of Valentine’s Day.

I like the way this week in review insert turned out and especially like that the Feb 12th – 18th is included, makes it so much easier to see right away the period of time the spread covers. It kind of drove me crazy that my pages from 2011 didn’t have the week of dates listed (OCD much?) and I would have to figure out what dates were covered by looking for dates on the photos. This insert will be making a regular appearance in this album going forward.

This week includes an 8.5×11 insert. I ran out of the American Crafts page protectors so I’m using one from Avery. The front side holds a valentine’s day card.

The happy mail, stripes and envelope were stamped on. I have a thing for stamping along the edges.  The stamps are a new set I have coming out soon at Purple Onion Designs.

The back side of the insert is a rainbow drawing by Audrey. I’m not sure if it was intentional, but I was super impressed with the amount of white space she left in her drawing. HA!

Sometimes she says the sweetest things. Number 1 Reason that I love Project life? I’m getting all of them documented.

I love using the Design F page protector. All the photos from this week were taking with my camera phone. I tend to take more portrait oriented photos with the phone so the 3×4 pockets are just perfect.

Been trying to take photos with more white space, lots more sky, lots more of the background, lots more space. I like the mix of up close and faraway shots.

beautiful! love your style!

You crack me up with that comment about “white space” on the rainbow art page! I’m sure she’s learning from you! Your pages are so harmonious and beautiful!

HA! Thank you Esther. When it comes to art, I’m trying my best not to steer her one way or another so she can find her own style.

Beautiful Pages! You are a great source of inspiration 🙂

I’m going to have to steal your Week in Review idea… it’s the perfect solution to the week # vs dates issue (which is driving me crazy too).

Your mix of close and far-away shots + more white space is PERFECT, I love the effect. With all the little pockets it’s easy to look busy but this is a breath of fresh air. I hadn’t thought about it so specifically before but I will be from now on…

That’s funny Jamaica. I think I specifically decided to make a point of taking more still life photos and photos with more white space after seeing YOUR album. I love the look of your album and all the amazing photos you take. You’re such an inspiration.

Love your style.
What is the font you used for the word CHEEKS?

You are such an inspiration! =) I can’t wait to start a Project Life album. I’m probably a few years late, but I just learned about PL about maybe 2 weeks ago!

I would also like to know what FONT you used for the word “CHEEKS” and where do you get your 3×4 photos printed at?

Thank you and keep on inspiring us! Great work! =)

I print 3×4 photos using these 4×6 photo templates (free download): http://www.oscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=29320. I usually get my photos printed at costco or at persnickety.
