I’m meeting up with a really, really special friend in Paris this weekend. Since we’re going to be spending our weekend art journaling, I wanted to make a special mini art journal for the both of us.
Printing black elements on kraft is a big fave. I made the journal 6×4″, so I printed on double that so that I could fold it. I then cut up some watercolour paper, Moleskine paper (since we both love it), and vellum. There’s a doily in there too for good measure. I folded everything with a bone folder to get it as flat as possible. These guys were already going to be fat for their size.
Using binder clips to keep the paper together, I hand bound the album with really simple stitching. An awl for holes, and garn for stitching. I’m not fancy.
And tied on the outside cause I don’t have the patience to make it neat. I love how the yarn looks against the kraft. I was initially going to have some word art on the cover, but Liz’s little Eiffel Tower was too cute to pass up on. And perfect for this.
Her book received a little love note in the middle of it.
And some really amazing words at the end.
Mine got lumo pink binding and zero love notes, but other than that they’re similar. I simply cannot wait to fill it with watercolour sketches and doodles this weekend. Eek!

Are you meeting up with who I *think* you’re meeting up with? If so…..so jealous!!! Have fun. xoxo.
That’s a little bit later!
SO pretty! Black on kraft really pops!
I feel like I overuse it since I love it so much, but then I remember how great black on kraft is and that it *can’t* be overused 😉
Great idea! Love it!
