hello all! it’s spring! i can’t believe how much lighter i feel. this winter was r o u g h. but happy times are here again. finally.

press cards no. 31

had a really hard time with this layout. originally i was going to use a 2×2 square grid page protector because i had a lot of detail shots from the week that i liked. for some reason i can never come up with something i am happy with in that format. drives me crazy! furthermore, i had this photo from a breathwork gathering that was square and i didn’t have access to the original image to make it un-square. i don’t usually do 4×4’s so i was perplexed, but the photo was a non-negotiable b/c the negative space between all of our heads is in the shape of a heart!  to say i did the shuffle on this one is an understatement. somehow, after many permutations this is what happened. don’t ask me how. i really like it because it’s something i wouldn’t have planned this way. just one of the ways we follow our intuition to achieve goals we never would have imagined. i did some penciled journaling with watercolor in an attempt to match the paper from my sabrina ward harrison journal (the trust card). had to include a photo of my haircut because i am smiling. that never happens! i have a hard time hiding my RBF in photos. yet another reason i need to get out of this city.

pictures + words no. 18

i love this layout for two reasons. one: i finally used this page from an old veer catalogue! i have been hoarding this for at least 7 years, right? agh. feels good. two: the “on my desk” shows a tarot card spread i did for myself after some breathwork, during which i had visions of the card in the center. the empress! i love when life is synchronicitous like that. gave me the chills! the bottom left is a photo from the event (breathwork in a geodesic dome!!) that i really liked and hadn’t been able to fit in the previous week’s spread. of course i had to get a pic of the oils at my favorite store, enfleurage. i’m a little obsessed with essential oils at the moment!

currently word art

this layout was super fun because i made it interactive! the spread itself came together very quickly. love when that happens. however, when it came time to add journaling, i could NOT decide where i wanted it. i considered so many variations, but couldn’ t make up my mind. then i decided to put it up on instagram for discussion. all the different comments i got were so helpful and interesting. i ended up with a variation on emma speller’s idea, which was to use my shadow as a boundary (def did NOT think of that!). wanda faye’s suggestion was to add the date in the top left corner wasn’t gonna work because i planned to put the date on the white card, but i knew she was on to something! i decided to use these shapes i cut out that had been sitting on my floor for weeks. gluing them down was tedious but i love the end result. the whole thing was so fun, because it almost made me feel like i was at a crop with talented, inventive scrapbookers. super cool.

this month journal cards

this spread was super simple documentation of the week. did chalk signs for the restaurant i work for. started the 100 day project. got some photos of my artwork hanging up in someone’s home (so exciting!). happy hour with a friend. crystals. and of course, my dog.

if you guys have any questions about breathwork, essential oils, crystals or tarot cards, please feel free to ask. i love nerding out about that sort of stuff 🙂

Love the layouts…as usual they are always inspiring! Since you asked, I am curious about the essential oils. How exactly do you use them and what do they do for you? Thanks for sharing Kristi.
