Hi there! It’s Carly again to share some fun custom wall art with you. I just adore all the pretty wall art designs you can buy from Etsy, but it can be expensive, especially when you like to change your wall art as often as I  do – so I opt to just make my own!

I always start with an 8.5 x 11 sheet size in Photoshop and put guidelines on the page to show the print area I require. A few things you’ll want to take into account is if you have a picture mat, or are wanting to add any special graphical borders, just remember to create your print area accordingly. If you want to print a custom project bigger than 8.5 x 11, you can! Just simply create your artwork and have it printed at a place like Persnickety or Shutterfly, to name just two. They can print all kinds of picture sizes and even offer a number of different mounting options.

You will also want to ensure you save your finished photoshop file at 300 dpi or higher depending on the finished image size you will be printing. Saving your artwork at this resolution will ensure your designs print out beautifully every time.
