stephanie’s project life | week 32

Hi, I’m Stephanie and I am so honored to be a guest designer here at Paislee Press today!  I have been a long time fan of everything Liz makes and designs.  I just love her minimalist style.

Today, I am sharing week 32 of my Project Life album.  I love this project.  I love that it captures our everyday moments.  I love that I remember to photograph the little things, as well as the big moments.  I love printing out our photos and “reliving” our week as I put together my spread.

My favorite part of my album is “the finishing touches”.  I’m kind of an embellishment freak and usually add quite a few to both my Project Life spreads and traditional layouts.  And although I do a little mix of digital and traditional in my Project Life spread, I love sewing on little tags and bits at the end.

For this week’s spread, I decided to create my own embellishments using the downtime journaling cards and element pack and the frolic journaling cards.  I simply created a document in Photoshop, added all of the files I wanted to include in my spread, printed the page and then trimmed them out.  Easy peasy!

I also wanted to use my Silhouette to die cut a few of the files.  I created my own 4×6 card using the “hello tuesday” file from the pictures + words no. 5 collection, as well as a title using the “moments” from the downtime (elements) collection.  I love how the cut files add a little texture and dimension to my spread.

I added a few strips of washi tape behind my die cut letters to give the words a little color and to help them pop.  The remaining white space became the perfect spot for this adorable picture of my sweet daughter.

And here is a look at my finished week and a few detail shots…

We spent this week at the beach so I ended up with a ton of photos of my kids at the beach and the pool!  Although I take a zillion pictures a week, I like to keep my spreads at about 10-11 photos.  This allows me to add more journaling and notes.

Since happiness is at the beach (for me), I just had to include the “happy” definition from the presslines no. 18 collection.  It went perfectly with the photo and our overall week.

Typing directly onto my photos is definitely a favorite of mine.  I just slide my photo into my typewriter, add my journaling and call it done.  On this photo I added some alphas and the die cut “moments” for a fun little title.

This is a layered freebie from Paislee Press (4×6 Photo Templates Vol. 2) and if you don’t have it, you must stop what you are doing and go grab it now!!  I use this one all of the time when I want to add additional photos to my spread.  Instead of including all six photos on the left side, I added two of the brushes from the presslines no.18 collection.  I love how it breaks up the photos a little.
