This is the week of August 7th. I only took photos 4 days out of the week and originally tried to fit everything on one page but I ended up filling up the 2 page spread and adding an insert.
Left side. Everything on this page is from our day at Huntington Library. It was an awesome day. It was awesome to spend the day there with my parents, just as I had so many times over the years. I have to confess though, when I was a kid, I thought the Huntington was such a bore and I always dreaded going there. So it was nice to be able to come back here as an adult with an appreciation for museums, to relive childhood memories and to share them with the girls.
Audrey with Uncle George. It was awesome that my brother was able to join us that day.
Audrey couldn’t get enough of the map. We went along and let her be our tour guide for the day.
I ended up taking 240 photos that day and will probably make a separate photobook or mini album (like I did with Madeline’s 2nd Birthday).
This week’s insert holds a drawing Audrey made on the first day of school. It’s an odd sized paper – too big for an 8.5×11 page protector. Then I remembered how Ali Edwards made her own custom page protectors so I trimmed and stitched a 12×12 page protector to the size of the drawing.
The other side holds another drawing that Audrey made at school. I love that her teacher took the time to write down what it was that Audrey was drawing that day. “Me with lipstick. ”
Close up of right side are photos from the rest of the week, Audrey’s first day of school, and random photos taken on the friday and saturday.
The journaling card is from my Then & Now Printables Kit.
The red label framing “AUDREY” is this vintage black label stamp by purple onion designs.
Another week wrapped up. I’m excited to finish the month of August and hoping to get semi caught up soon. If I do, I’m going to try to take on Ali Edward’s December Daily project!
I love seeing your project life spreads! very inspiring 🙂
If you do Dec Daily, do you think it will be 100% digital? If so, would you consider releasing a template set for the project?
Hi Kristyn! If I do December Daily, it will probably be a combination of paper + digital. Have you checked out Ali Edwards’ digital shop? I think she releases a new set of december daily templates every year.
I love your project life pages! What font did you use on the journal card?
Thanks Jane! Font is american typewriter.
Oh, I really like this a lot! And Uncle George is HOT!
Haha, I just forwarded your comment to my brother and now he’s totally embarrased.
Love seeing your Project Life posts. Can you tell me about that red label stamp? I love it! Is it still available?
Hi Sheri,
The label stamp is called vintage black label stamp and it’s available for purchase at purple onion designs. Link to her shop and to the stamp is in the body of the post.
Thank you so much! That was fast!
So embarrassed! I obviously didn’t read, just looked!!!
Omigosh, please don’t be embarrassed! I do that all the time too, look and read later. 🙂
Oh please, please, please do Dec Daily. This is my first year doing PL and attempting DD and I get a lot of inspiration from your blog. I would love to see you take on DD!!!
i always end up really wanting to attempt project life when i see your layouts!
you inspire me! tfs! 🙂
Liz, do you think you will ever be able to share how you use RadLab actions? I love how your photos look but I’m hesitant to purchase RadLab because I have limited time to learn on my own. Thanks!
Thanks so much Jennifer! Hoping to get that post up next week.
[…] fallen in love with Liz’s (of Paislee Press) Project Life […]
I truly love your approach to PL!!
I’ve found myself checking your posts over and over again and it’s because there is this sense of cohesiveness that I love about all your spreads, and I finally realized that is because the way you use RadLab actions. . .
So, I was wondering. . .do you use the same ‘recipes’ for all the pictures? can u tell us some tips on this?
Thanks!!
Thanks Olga. I don’t use the same recipe for all photos only because the results vary based on the tones (or white balance) of the photos. So I have a collection of go-to recipes that I cycle through to get that particular look I like. I am getting ready to work up a a post on radlab, I can share the particulars in that post. If there’s anything specific you want to know, let me know.
I just ordered page protectors to start PL myself. This is great inspiration!
I didn’t know you were in the LA area. We lived in Pasadena a few years ago, over by the Art Center College of Design. Loved the Huntington Library!
*sigh* I always love your PL posts! And yes, I’m totally in love with PL 🙂 Problem is with the shipping over here it’s just way too costly! A scrapper friend of mine admitted she’d ordered the full kit and with shipping it was way over $100! So I decided to cull together local scrap materials here and make my own version of PL–I may do this approach for a trip we took way back in 2009, but I’m toying with the idea of PL for 2012. We’ll see 🙂
Looks like a fun day and I love the way you documented it!
What stock of project life cards are these? I love that they are very neutral.
