There is not much I can say about full page photos, except it’s a simple yet very effective way how to highlight your favourite photos and make your album special. I use my albums mostly as photo albums with just a few embellishments and journaling. For me, the photos tell the story the best. When I first tried incorporating a 12 inch photo in my album, I was caught right a way. It added diversity to the album and I decided to use it as month dividers in my son’s first year album.
At the beginning of each month I used one full page photo and nine 4×4 squares from the same photo session (just because I need it to be color and style matching 😉 )
At first I printed the photos at home on two A4 size papers, but it was too complicated and using up too much ink. The easiest way it to have it printed at your printer shop. And if they print 12×12 inch size, all you need to do if just cut it up in 9 parts (depending on your pocket page design).
Here in Czech Republic (and Europe in general) printers offer papers in centimetres not inches, so I have to print my photos a bit smaller – 30x30cm (If I chose a custom size 30,5×30,5cm aka 12×12 inch, it would be way too expensive, because it’s not a standard size).
Also you should be careful about your subject position on the photo if you use a face photo. As you can see below, I did not measure where the cut is gonna be and it went through the eye, which looks weird, I think.
Using a full page photo is a perfect way how to emphasize photos you love. I will usually use a full page photo plus one or two classic pages to compliment it.
And then the simplest ones (beside my son’s baby photos of course 🙂 ) turn out to be my favourite like this one
