How I create my simple month-in-review pocket pages

Hi everyone, it’s Carly here with today’s blog share. In my current Project Life album I like to document specific story themes. I have a long list of topics I want to capture such as; what a typical morning looks like, documenting our family’s hobbies, capturing the changing seasons, and so on. However, even though the focus of my Project Life album is to document story based themes, I still like to include a page for each month that recaps life’s current happenings.

The monthly recap page showcases everyday, ordinary things like; what we are watching on tv these days or reading, to what we are eating and drinking, to what music we are listening to lately, and so on. These recap pages are a quick overview of what that month’s everyday moments looked like.

I like keeping my monthly recap pages really simple in design. I start with using the 4×6 Photo Template Vol. 6 and the large number journal card to show which month the page is for. For example, 01 is for January, 02 is for February, and so on.
The other photo templates I like to use a lot is anything from the Minimalist Collection. For me, the entire Minimalist Collection is a staple in all my Project Life page designs. On this page I used the 3×4 Photo Templates to highlight things that I am currently watching, drinking, listening to and loving.
My final go-to design element when creating my pocket pages are to use digital stamps like the “Oh happy day” one I used in the dining room photo. This particular digital stamp is from the Oh Happy Day digital kit. I always love layering digital stamps directly on my photos to give them that little extra storytelling feature.
Do you create a month-in-review page in your Project Life albums? If so, what are the kinds of things do you like to document?

I love the look of your photos! What filters do you use?! 🙂

Hi Cindy, I don’t use a filter, but I do edit all my photos in Lightroom tweaking the exposure, contrast, shadows, etc. and I’m hoping to make a video soon about my photo editing process seeing how I do get lots of questions about it. Thanks! Carly
