Hello everyone!
It’s Lory here and I am super duper excited to be here to share with you some tips about my PL 2017! Have you started telling your stories? Have you decided the size album and the way you want to tell the everyday stories? A lot of questions in my head before starting my album but yeah I’m ready to begin this new adventure! I’d love to share some tips about my PL idea and my creative process with you.
Are you ready? Let’s go!;)
First of all I have chosen to use the same size album of the past year, 9×12 inches because I have found it so comfortable and easy to fill with my stories but at the same time sufficiently big to tell my stories in the way I love. My approach will be a weekly approach but I think to insert additional pages for big occasions or particular events or dates of which I want to remember more details. This spread is an example of my idea, I have created a full PL spread for just one day January first because I had a lot of things to tell and keep in my album so I decided to dedicate a whole spread to it. Break the rules, make your own rules, what works for you.
My creative process starts from the pictures. I usually edit them in Photoshop using photo actions and templates. This time the 4x6TemplateVol6 were just perfect for what I had in my mind! A perfect space for more pictures, for those pictures I wanted to include in my spread but I wanted in a little size. I love the templates because they give me the possibility to have a final page clean and simple, especially clean even if you are a lot of different color photos. I love them because I can write my story immediately as well and I love this! Everything looks so linear and good-looking and the white space gives me the idea of an airy page where pictures, embellishments and stories are all together and there is a right place for everything.
I adore to mix b&w pictures with the colored.
Another lovely little idea is to use the same template different times in the same page like in the picture below. In this way I would to remark the date, the family theme and the picture size.
Gold is another currently obsession of mine because when it makes your page shine and I love love like crazy the final result. This year my approach i about simplifying everything, using just little details here and there, stamps, buttons, chipboards, tags, no pressure to insert a lot of materials.
The colors of my pictures and the colors of what I choose about the materials have to match perfectly, I have an obsession for this. Lol! Well I hope to have inspired you to start telling your stories in the way just you like and especially to have fun creating! Do what you love often! This is my mantra lately!
Have a wonderful day!
Love, Lory

Very nice! What page protector are you using on the right? Thx!
Liz I have used a normal 9×12 design A from studio calico and I have cut the picture in the middle 🙂
