Hey guys, it’s Caylee! I’m sharing a quick, super fun project today.
I’m trying to turn my house into a home, butย I’m almost completely useless at interior design. I’m also not overflowing withย money.ย Mini photo galleries around the house are helping me inย making a home without needing a stylist, and paislee press elements are keeping costs down.

After seeing this journal card in Dwell, I knew I couldn’t have it just living in an album somewhere. It’s a work of art. So I bought a frame from IKEA, along with a bunch of others, and started my mini photoย gallery.ย I added three of my current fave photos, gorgeous words from Martu Alterada, and my fave word art – xoxo from Smitten.

Tips for creating a cohesive mini photo gallery:
- choose a colour scheme ahead of time and stick to that
- if you find things you like that aren’t part of the colour scheme, recolour them
- choose elements from a digital kit because they’re already matching
- use digital paper as backgrounds to keep the consistency
- be sure to balance out any busy photos with more minimalist images or text
- change any photos that stick outย to black and white
- if all else fails, use aย black element on white paper.

This is a brilliant idea!
Thanks Susan, I really love how it looks in my home.
I love the idea of framing a favorite journal card. There are so many I’ve come across that I feel bad just leaving in my stash- this is a great solution. I’m also REALLY intrigued by the year-at-a-glance calendar in that first photo. Could I get some more info on where to get one of those?
You’re right, it’s a great way to use stash.
The calendar is a German one from an Etsy store called Kleinwaren. It’s great!
