And just like that, she turned 5. We celebrated the occasion with three of her favorite things: ice cream cake, face painting and an outdoor movie in our backyard. The Birthday Girl requested Frozen for feature movie (no surprise there!) and she got to dress up in her Elsa gown.

The movie held the attention of the kids throughout the entire showing which meant that us adults were able to relax and chat and eat. They had fun. We had fun. All in all, it was an awesome night.

I foresee many more backyard movie nights for us this summer.
