This is Week 30. I used to take more photos on a daily and regular basis but now that both my girls are in school, I’m taking less photos on the weekdays but many more on the weekends when we’re all together. It’s gotten more challenging to fill 2 Design A pockets because of this so I recently switched to using a Design A + Design H combo and that’s been working out nicely.
This week is a prime example of how more and more of my project life entries are focused on weekend activities. Most of the photos were taken on Saturday when we spent the day at the beach.
I like to have one repeating design element each week to help maintain a cohesive feel throughout the album. This year that design element is a simple 3×4 week in review card.
Another thing that has helped to simplify my process is including more camera phone photos in the album. This sunset shot was taken and edited (using PicTapGo) on my iphone. I love that the photo was “done” and ready to be printed as soon as I downloaded it to my computer! At the last minute though, I decided to add the “lovely evening” wordart (from Pictures + Words No. 7) before printing. Love the clean look of simple text over a photo. I added this text in photoshop but this can also easily be done right on your smartphone with apps like A Beautiful Mess, Rhonna Designs and Over.
This sequence of family self portraits were also taken with the iphone. To make this collage, I dragged them all the photos onto a 4×6 file in photoshop, alternating the sequence in each row.
Products used: Design A + Design H page protectors, 3×4 white cards, 4×6 photo templates, Pictures + Words No. 7, Round About Days Circle Tags, Press Cards no. 20, Week in Review Cards
