Hey. It’s Caylee again. I’ve had a month full of adventure, and have enjoyed recording it in my Project Life album. However, my favourite weeks to record are still the ones where nothing really happens. Recording the “mundane” part of life makes it feel as though life is just as exciting as the times where you’re in another country. As though every day life is an adventure. This week was a perfect example. After weeks of touring Europe, it was nice to relax and have a bit of downtime.
A close up of the left side:
And the right side looked like this:
Dates covered: 29 July – 4 August
Location: Bruchsal, Germany
Favourite moments: our impromptu six month wedding anniversary mini celebration, using the time out to be crafty, my husband pulling silly faces.
I still love putting my own handwriting over photos digitally.
My husband and I both almost forgot our six month wedding anniversary until my mom reminded us. We celebrated with a fancy Italian dinner, and cheap Venetian ice cream (Tiramisu for me, After Eight for him). I took a moment to appreciate the fact that we were walking home at 9 o clock at night, with the air still warm, and the sun still out. I love how Project Life encourages me to take note of these moments, which would have otherwise been forgotten.
Anything special: this week I tried to add more depth to the layout. I did this with washi tape, extra sheets, paper clips, and writing onto the page protector instead of just the photo.
I also recoloured many of the elements in my spread. It adds further cohesiveness to the spread, something I’m always after, and Liz has a great tutorial on how to do that in Photoshop here.
I added my own washi tape to the digital washi and found it blended quite well. I’m starting to love adding washi tape over the page protectors.
I cut 6×8″ out of a plain page protector, added thickers, and paper clipped it over my crafty photo.
Kit used: Downtime papers and elements, Pictures + Words No. 6, Presslines No. 18 (coming soon), Round About Now
Enjoy making adventures this month.

Very adorable layout, I love the ice cream photo! I also enjoy the weeks that are just life in my PL album…it lets me get more creative!
Thanks, Linda. It is definitely easier to be creative when you are not drowning in gorgeous photos.
LOVE this Caylee. I have been wanting to try writing directly on the page protectors too, I’m absolutely wild with how yours turned out. GENIUS.
Thanks Liz. If I smudge anything after writing on the page protector, I just use nail polish remover and start again.
I love the stickers on the transparency over the photo. <3 Great pictures too. Love your pages.
Thank you Kimberlee.
How do you cut the photographs to fit perfectly in the Project Life pages? The pages on the website are wonderful!!!
I get my photos printed at 4×6″ at Kodak or similar, and they slip right in. The 3×4″s, I just cut in half and trim the sides.

Great pages, C! I love “the month of saying yes”.
Thanks Mary ♥ The yes month was totally T’s idea, can you believe it ?
This is beautiful. I totally get what you mean about the mundane moments & noticing things because PL has taught that – love this aspect too.
PL is lovely. Thank you for your words.
Gorgeous work, Caylee!
