Lately, it’s been all about photo editing on the go. I’ve downloaded quite a few apps in the past two (or three?) and the ones that I turn to time and again are:
PicTapGo, by Totally Rad, the makers of RadLab. Anything they make is an instant WIN in my book. I reach for this when I want to brighten up the photo and/or access my favorite RadLab styles.
VSCO CAM, awesome set of filters that was recommended to me by a photographer friend. I use this one a whole lot. It looks like they will be releasing a new version of this app soon.
Snapseed is the app I reach for when I need to do heavy duty editing. It’s such a robust program – cropping, target editing, special effects (tilt shift, etc.)

edited with PicTapGo. Instagram version HERE.
Sometimes I use a combination of apps.
Snapseed (crop + tilt shift effect), and then used PicTapGo to post the full landscape version on instagram.
Instagram version HERE.
What are your go-to photo editing apps?
ps. BTW, enrollment for the Phone Photography Class at Big Picture Classes is still open. If you’re interested in getting more out of your camera phone, I encourage you to check out the class!
my go to photo app is Pixlr-omatic….I LOVE it! I ahve used paid apps before but always come back to this free one….and I love that you can use it on your phone AND your computer!
I’m with Tina! Pixlr-o-matic! I often feel that I’m limited because I have an android based phone.
have your tried “a beautiful mess”? fun way to add text & doodles to photos after 🙂
As typographic nerd Over and Phonto are my 2 play apps.love the fact that you can open your own fonts in them! I love square photography but not the Instagram app. I like full resolution and a simple app with no filters. 6×6 is my regular daily photo app. Take brilliant pics. That I can open in Instagram and send away. But also can print and use in scrap in full resolution.
If I want filters I use VSCO, Vintage, PicTapGo.
My go-to app is Afterlight. There is so much control with sliders to ‘doctor’ a photo before applying a filter. Love it.
