2 of 52 (a year of light)

Our living room is the darkest room in the house so it’s the last place I think of going to take photos. It actually looks much much brighter in this photo than it feels (and looks) in real life. I think it must be the combination of the dark sofas, the dark floors and the dark coffee table – they are sucking all the light from the room. I’d love to redo this entire room one day. Get some built-ins up, redo the fireplace, lighten up the flooring, new sofas and the list goes on…one day hopefully.  Most likely not this year, but one of these days.

What room in your house/apartment/dwelling is your favorite and why?

Alas, I can’t think of a room I love in this house. It’s a rental, and I’ve done as much as I can. The problem is lack of light too. But I guess the family room would be my fave. That’s where we spend the most amount of time together as a family. It’s a mish mash of furniture, and honestly, it’s fuggly. But hey, we gather there, and that’s good enough. 🙂

Aw, I love that your fave room is the one your family spends the most time together. For us that would be our dining room/kitchen. We’re a family that loves to eat. 🙂

I get such a buzz whenever I see a new post from you! Also, I just adore getting little glimpses into your life. 🙂

My favourite room is my studio as it’s my memory keeping haven. 🙂 I also love our formal dining room, as it’s always clean and tidy, the table is at the right height to work from, it has a view of the yard, it’s far enough away from the play room where the chaos usually is, and the table in there is also perfect for taking photos for the blog!

Ooooh, I’d love a peek into your studio, do you have a post on that? And your dining room sounds divine! I’ve loved every photo you’ve posted of your house. I love your aesthetics and sense of style…but you knew that already. 🙂

You are in luck! 🙂

It hasn’t changed at all, since I wrote that blog post. I thought I would add my bits and pieces but I’ve become very content with it just the way it is. 🙂

And LOL, here’s our dining room: http://pinkronnie.com/2012/03/make-my-home-our-very-first-formal-dining-room/

My NEW favorite room in the house is our bathroom. It used to be my least favorite but now it has heated floors and a heated ceiling fan plus it looks 8 million times better than it used to! (It had never been updated since the house was built in the 60’s and it had pink square tile everywhere!!)

So, even though most of the house is still stuck in the 60’s – I’m thankful for my one modern haven. 🙂

Ooooooh, heated floors! I’d love to update our bathrooms too. Actually, every room in our house is in desperate need of updates and I dont’ know where to start. ha!

I spend the most time in our kitchen / family room, which is actually getting a furniture overhaul as soon as the new stuff arrives (beyond excited about it!). But my favorite room in the house is our little Ben’s nursery. It’s the smallest room in the house, but I got to design it from the ground up. There’s a mix of new furniture (an upholstered glider in a graphic navy and white print) and old (my husband’s childhood dresser and mirror). I love how bright and happy it is.

Oh congrats, I’m excited for you!! LOL. And your glider sounds amazing, I’m completely obsessed with all things navy.

I love our tiny house because of the light! The early morning light that floods our bedroom and the evening glow in my study. After renting in so many dark houses, light was my number 1 consideration when we were buying!

That is my dream Diana to have a house with lots of light. Congrats!! 🙂

I love our lounge room(living room) as its a great size and shape and good light…that said I’d love to change the light fittings and window dressings but we may do some renovations so we are waiting til we decide… It could be years!

Oh, I can totally relate. Makes more sense to hold off on updates if you’re planning a major reno down the road, but the waiting can be challenging sometimes.
