This morning we sent our littlest off to pre-school. Be loving, calm, reassuring and do not drag out the good-bye. The principal and teacher prepped me well so the drop-off went incredibly smoothly. 

“Mommy loves you and I’ll be back to pick you up later.”

“You come back? Get Mei Mei?”

I nod. You say OK. We give each other hugs, a quick kiss and then off you go. Just like that.

Now I’m back home, sitting at my desk and I’m finding it hard to concentrate on work because the house is eerily still. And too quiet. Who knew that silence could be such a distraction? So now I’ve got both Billie Holiday and HGTV playing in the background and hoping that this ambient noise will help me get back into the swing of things.
