Audrey is almost three now and Maddie is 16 months.
I am enjoying watching the two of them play. Giggling and screeching together. Sometimes the screeches are happy ones and all I want to do at that moment is round them both up for a big bear hug. Other times I just want to rip my ears out.
Waaaaaaaaaaaah. Mei-mei took my crayon!
Noooooooooooooooo.
It’s miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
Precarious times. It’s frustrating for both of them, I’m sure. Audrey wants order with her play and Madeline just wants to play. I tell Audrey that she has to be patient and a little more forgiving because her little sister is still a baby, can’t talk and hasn’t quite grasped the concept of sharing or taking turns.
Mei Mei can’t talk. She’s a baby.
Later that afternoon, I was reprimanding Madeline for grabbing a book out of Audrey’s hand and Audrey said:
It’s ok Mama, I’m sharing.
Somebody is going to get a big hug from me right now.
