Merry Christmas Eve morning! Hello everyone, Carly here today and oh my gosh I can’t believe tomorrow is Christmas! Today I’m sharing a little peek into my December album and also sharing a few changes that I made to documenting it this year.

This year I really needed to make my December album even easier to keep up with during the busy holiday season and the biggest change that I made was to not document each day. My focus for this album is more on capturing stories that happen during the month and documenting the things that are most important to me.

One of the biggest stories that I captured was our family’s trip to Banff the week prior to Christmas and for that story alone I think I used about 6-7 pages. Because I am focused on telling the stories of December in this album I’m not worried how many pages I use to tell them. Sometimes it might take me just a page and other times, the bigger stories, will take me a number of pages.

Another change I made was to design full 6×8 pages verses using a page pocket system and binder, which I felt fit better with my story focus approach. Creating full 6×8 page designs gives me the flexibility to add pages anywhere throughout the album at anytime and I also can easily reorder my pages if I choose to.

I really love my last year’s December album, which you can check it out here, but this year I knew that I wouldn’t be able to manage a daily documenting approach. So if I was going to be able to get an album done this year I had to make a few changes that would work for me now and I absolutely love how it’s turning out.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone and happy New Year! See you in 2016!
