December Daily 2013, Day 5

Call me crazy, addressing cards is a holiday tradition that I look forward to. I spent a good portion of Day 5 (and 6 and 7) doing this. As it turns out, I didn’t take any photos on Dec 5th, so for Day 5 I chose to focus on our holiday cards.

The card is going in the album, along with an envelope that includes our return address. Inside the envelope I slipped in a sheet of a used stamp booklet. I like having a record of the stamp we use each year and I am especially enamored with this year’s poinsettia image.

I also hand lettered a simple “addressing cards” insert using the same gold ink that was used to address the envelopes. I am loving the gold + black combo these days.

Our holiday cards. I couldn’t settle on one cardstock texture so I ended up placing orders with two different vendors: one with Persnickety Prints on their pearl cardstock and another through WHCC using a different cardstock (premium matte) and I’m thrilled with the results of both.

The pearl cardstock from Persnickety Prints (pictured below) has a beautiful shimmery sheen that I love.  The photo doesn’t do this cardstock justice, you really have to see it in person!

The ones from WHCC also turned out great, though, in my opinion, it has a completely different feel. Very crisp and modern and the cardstock is a nice and sturdy weight.

One of my to do’s for 2014 is learning calligraphy. I can’t wait! This is beautiful!

Love your cards! Hand lettering is my favorite too… taking me a long time to work through my list this year because I’m spending so much time on the envelopes, ha.

These are gorgeous! Liz! Everything you create is such magic!

Oh my gosh. Our cards look so similar! We did reindeer antlers and santa hats photobooth style with our boys. So cute! 🙂

I always include our postage stamps as well. Cute cards! Happy New Year!
