Aimee’s Project Life | Week 27

Hi! I am Aimee Dow and I have the great honour of being the guest creative team member for July.  I, like Caylee, started Project Life on my wedding day, which was the 23rd of December last year. This makes for a good laugh though, when trying to get one’s work published, as people tend to think I’m a week ahead of myself.  So without further ado, here is my Week 27.

Chris and I don’t have children of our own just yet, but this week we had a chance to catch up with two of my favourite little people. Leianna and her parents moved to the other side of Australia a couple of months ago and this was their first trip back. It’s hard to believe how much she has grown.

I made this 6×4 card from photos I took while her Mommy was trying to get her dressed. The beautiful floral frames and a couple of the flower stickers are from the ‘We Were Here’ collection. The remaining flowers and the bow are from the ‘From Where I Stand’ collection. I inserted a small piece of ribbon through a cut in the top of the frames, just to make it look like they were hanging.

I really like the continuity that all the frames bring to the spread. Frames are also an awesome way to disguise oddly cropped photos or Instagram pictures.

Or you could just highlight a masterpiece. This is my God-daughter Mog. Mog is not her real name but I have called her that since the day she was born and I don’t really see that ever changing. Last Saturday, Mog gave me the most wonderful tour of her back garden. It was just one of those mornings where time didn’t seem all that important because you were doing what you love, with someone you love. I made these cards to remind me how precious this time is – the small moments between Items on a to-do list. Those are the moments I want to remember in the years to come.

It would not be my Project Life spread without at least one gratuitous food shot. Long before I was a Project Lifer, I was a baker and a cook. This week we tried a healthier approach to eating after Chris remarked on how few fruit and vegetables we have eaten in the last couple of weeks. Note: I said ‘healthier’, not healthy.  The card itself is comprised of an Instagram photo and layered digital elements from the ‘Where I Stand’ collection. I guess that’s what I like most about using digital elements – your cards are truly your own. That’s not to say you can’t copy me. I’m okay with that.

Finally, I will leave you with this stunning filler card from the ‘Where I Stand’ collection. There are a million and one things you could have done to make this card your own and a million and one things it can represent. This one is a personal salute to the new week.  I love Mondays. It’s a fresh start and I always think they are a tiny bit magical because I have renewed energy to tackle my lists, hence my little veneers stars.

Feel free to come visit me at my blog, Pinterest or over on Instagram.
