valentine’s photobooth card 2013

paislee-valentinephotobooth-0722

Totally last minute here with Valentine’s Day stuff.  I am sick right now and the last thing I wanted to do this morning was sit down to take photos for our annual Valentine’s photobooth greeting card. But we’ve been doing this for the past two years (2012, 2011) and I’m a sucker for tradition.

Plus, this is a super fast and easy project.

1. Take photos using a photobooth app. You can hold up premade cards with specific sayings – I did that last year and the year before.  I wasn’t prepared this year with cards so we just held up a blank sheet of paper and I added the text after the fact in photoshop.

2. Pick your favorite photos and add them to a photobooth frame using this template in my shop (it’s a free download). Print out the photobooth strip and adhere to them a letter-sized paper (folded in half).

3. Decorate the card. We’re totally late this year so I don’t have a sample to show you now, but the plan is to have Audrey and Madeline draw/write a note on the card (they will work on this after school today!).  This is what they made last year.

Sorry to hear you are sick, Liz! Happy Valentine’s Day to you, and hope you get a chance to rest and recover… (Card looks awesome!)
Love,
Ronnie xo

Thanks Ronnie, I’m on the mend now. 🙂

Such a lovely idea – we did a photobooth pic each month last year with the intentions of putting together a mini album, I’m not sure whether to do it annually or maybe a longer stretch of time, 2 years, 5 years … I can’t decide …
p.s. You look very lovely considering you’re sick :o)

Oh, what a GREAT idea Emma! I wanted to do something similar last year – take a family photobooth picture once a month but never got it started. What a FUN album it will make!

I have it set as a monthly reminder on my phone now, to make sure I don’t forget!!

Love this idea! Too late here for Valentine’s day (it’s already Feb 15th) but it’s a really good idea for Dad’s birthday!!! Thanks a lot. And hope you will recover very soon.

Father’s Day, yes! 🙂

Hi!

Thank you for offering a free download! This project looks so cool and you’re blog is lovely 🙂

I am having a problem downloading the file though…do I need to add the template to my cart and checkout? When I try that, it says I dont have enough points to purchase the template…even though it costs 0 points…what am I doing wrong?

Thank you!
Best,
Claire

Hi Claire,

My apologies for the troubles. We just upgraded the store’s xcart system and there are quite a few wonky things that need to be fixed. I’m not sure what’s going on with your particular case. I recommend clearing your cart, signing out, clearing your cookies, doing a F5 refresh. Then sign back in and try to grabbing the template again. If that still doesn’t work send in a ticket to customer service, or email me and I’ll forward it along to them. We’ll get this figured out, thanks so much for your patience!
