2012 Faves – the creative team edition

As this year comes to a close I thought it would be fun to look back on what we’ve accomplished in 2012 so the creative team is here today to share their favorite layout/project of the year.

I absolutely love this photo of my little girl and that poem I wrote for her, too. It basically sums up my overwhelming love for her all in one page. Plus it is a great representation of my style. Very simple and to the point.

This year I almost didn’t make any layouts, I’m so involved with my Project Life pages. I discovered Project Life in Liz blog, and since them I’m addicted to it! I really love this page because the show a very cultural celebration in Brazil called “Festa de São João” where kids really love to participate.

I love how this layout turned out. The photos really captured Christmas morning excitement and the Paislee Press products from the “Oh Joy” kit were the perfect backdrop. I really love the cute bunting!

I love this layout (can you say that about your own work?) because of its graphical qualities, it’s simple but makes a statement and I love this picture of my boy: it is so ‘him’. This hasn’t been an easy year and 2013 will have it’s challenges also but I’m trying to be more in the ‘now’ than worry about the future, with the emphasis on trying ;-).

The reason this is my favorite layout is because I love scrapping the simple moments that might otherwise be passed over and forgotten. Also I love it because I have such a hard time working with colored backgrounds and I was able to use one beautifully on this page.

I choose this layout for the story. This year has been a year of health challenges for me, with this story I had documented being one of the top three scares I had. It’s also a prime example of being in the moment: When I had gotten to the hospital I was out of my mind with the pain, but once the meds had kicked in and I was waiting for my husband to pick me up, I had the presence of mind to sit up and snap these photos of myself with my dinky phone’s camera. When I got home, I scribbled down the details of the incident in Evernote. The story sat there until I felt ready to share it, and I thought of coming at it from the point of view of being grateful. Despite the gravity of what happened, SO many little things fell into place. Just re-reading my journaling took me right back to that event in my life, and I still feel grateful.

“I want my feet firmly on the ground, but I’ll jump without fear of falling, sincerely feeling the wind in the hair” For me, as a taurine, every change is unconfortable, but my husband is a dreamer! so this year I just leave the decisions with him and he turn upside down our life, hehehe! Great changes and best thinking in a future! I just can believe him and hope it’s works!

I am not in very many photos or pages that I create. I am so thankful for the friend who took these family photos for us. I am so blessed to
have three wonderful children and an amazing husband. I love this photo and page b/c it reminds me of how very blessed I am.

The reason this is my favourite LO is simply because to me, it epitomizes New York. I mean, what could possibly be more “New York” than yellow taxis bumper-to-bumper? I ♥ New York!

This layout is dear to my heart because, although the photo is of such a precious moment between myself and my baby girl, the photo itself is not very good quality. I have wanted to scrap it for a long time, but was never happy with the end result before. This page is also a favorite because I often struggle to use patterned papers, but this beautiful kit made it easy even for me!

What are some of your favorites for 2012?
