project life: capturing halloween 2012

Hello there Project Life, it’s been a while.  I don’t know how I manged to let so many weeks months slip by but it happened.  The beauty of project life is that you can pick up right where you left off.  I still have lots of catching up to do.  I decided it would be easiest to jump back in starting with the most recent week and work my way back.  The entry I’m sharing with you today is all from one day – Halloween.  We had so much going on and I wanted it all documented so October 31st gets a full spread and an insert (Design Ga new fave).

Here’s the full spread.  I dig the monochromatic look – the white background in the photos, the woodgrain accents, with just pops of color from their halloween costumes. I was able to achieve this look by organizing the photos out of chronological order.

The moustache really made the magician costume, don’t you think?

I took these photos of the girls before we headed to school and I’m glad I did that because when we got to school it was absolute mayhem – not in a bad way, just in the sense that I wasn’t able to get any of the photos that I hoped to get.  Do you do that too?  Mentally made a checklist of photos you want to get before you head off somewhere?

This is probably the most intricate journaling card insert I’ve made to date. Those little stars are the Studio Calico wood veneers that I covered in glitter. That was fun to do.  The journaling details what they want to dress up as next halloween.  We’ll see how much changes between now and next year.

This is the other side of the Design G insert – all photos taken at their school halloween parade. I really like working this page design and am planning to include this in my weekly spreads. Instead of 2 Design A’s per week, I’ll use 1 Design A + 1 Design G.

More photos of the girls at the Halloween party at school.

I asked my daughters what their favorite candy was and recorded their answers on a 3×4 Blank White Card.

I always love your pages. So beautiful to look at!

Hi Liz….quick question for you….

Are the woodgrain cards (3×4 and 4×6) in your shop?

Not yet – I’ll put it on my list of things to do. Might be able to get it in the shop by this friday but next friday is looking more plausible.

Thanks Stephanie!

So cute, I’m glad I’m not the only one who only just posted their halloween pics!
