#somethingnew photography challenge

I’m excited to be kicking off the new week with more store grand opening hoopla – a fun photography challenge and a chance to win a photo editing tool that I cannot live without – RadLab by Totally Rad! If you aren’t familiar with RadLab. It’s serious stuff. The kind that sparks revolutions. I used to spend way more time than I care to admit on photo processing but that all changed with Radlab. To learn more about RadLab, check out this video by Doug Boutwell and see this before + after post.

the challenge

Take a photo of something that signifies #somethingnew or #change.  Upload your photo to a site/gallery of your choice (instagram, flickr, photobucket, your blog, etc.). Then come back and post a link to your photo in the comments section below to be entered for a chance to win RadLab by Totally Rad!  Entries must be submitted here by October 31st at 11:59pm PST.  One entry per person.  Winnes will be chosen by random drawing and announced here no later than November 4th.

To get things started, I asked a few of my favorite photographers to submit something for the challenge and this is what they sent in.

This may not directly look like change or something new but they are very much both to my kids. We moved from FL to VA a few months ago. I grew up in the suburbs of NYC so I’ve had the 4 season experience but this is the first time my kids have seen fall (first time in almost 10 years for me…I forgot how beautiful it was). It’s also been a huge change for my middle son so the picture of him looking kind of shy in the back of the corn field, that really symbolizes where he is right now…kind of in the middle, still adapting and making new friends. – by Kelly Carothers

This photo was taken on New Year’s Day 2012. This would be the year I would make the biggest change of my life and that was to be a WFHM. I remember being scared and thinking I’m making the biggest mistake of my life but it was the very opposite. – by Tina Aszmus

 And the winner is…

Congratulations Amanda!  Be on the lookout for an email from me shortly!

This baby is less than two hours old in this photo. She represents the newness of life & the change that only she can create in the world. She grips her Daddy’s hand, looking for something strong to comfort her, but soon she will have her own strength to be the person God intended her to be.

My family dynamic changed 6 weeks ago when our little Aven bird was born, making us a party of 5. He was born several days after my 2 oldest kidlets went back to school. It has been a hectic, chaotic (& exciting!) time in our lives, but Owen & Olive have been so resilient… & embraced the change that their baby brother has brought to our lives. It’s safe to say they absolutely adore him! This is a photo of Olive loving on baby Aven.

This picture is of my very good friend Gunilla who is having a baby girl in the beginning of Dec. I love photography and hope to one day be able to spend a lot of more time devoted to it. I have had my eye on Totally Rad for a while and would love to win it.

Just realized that my photo link is no longer working. Google + is not my friend. I moved the picture to Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/49116956@N06/8147655245/

We are adopting our first child in two weeks! A precious baby girl. This is our first nursery, and I cannot wait to spend many sweet, snuggly moments in this room.

My beautifull Boy Bastien !

The maple tree in our yard developing it’s red glow is one of my favorite parts of the changing seasons.

The faded roses among blooming ones in my garden is for me synonymous of change and new season.

Thank you very much for this challenge and the chance to win Totally Rad.

Watching the seasons change. My son and I went on a walk and I couldn’t help but notice how summer was changing into fall. These were the last flowers left. http://www.flickr.com/photos/amaporub/8122792278/in/photostream

We added a baby to our family six weeks ago… that’s definitely #somethingnew and a lot of #change. 🙂

Here’s a shot of all three of our kids in the bathtub together. We’re still adjusting to new routines and new relationships, but it’s a sweet, sweet time.

When I decided to get married, I knew my life change forever. However, I have never regret. This is really my right decision.

I did graduate on Dec 16,2011 at ANU. A big change of my life.

Getting close to 40, I look at myself in the mirror and I contemplate about how much I have changed. A lot on the outside, but even more on the inside. Today I know, I trust and I believe that the most valuable treasure in the world is our inner wisdom. Nothing more…nothing less..

There’s always #something new in Everyday.

These little kits are Jordi and Marc, adopted brothers. I was babysitter of them. I remember the first time I met them, I almost cried when one of them run to me to give a hug, even without knowing me. Knowing them changed my life, because everyday was a joy, literally, I couldn’t stop laughing with them. Now I’m not with them, I remember and missing so much them everyday. But I wish happiness to them, I know they have it, and I’m happy knowing that.
This photo was taken while we were taking a walk.
