oceanside + the big white box

Yesterday we drove down to Oceanside for a Big White Box photo session with the amazing Jaclyn of The Image Is Found. I first had the pleasure of meeting the Kaisers years ago when they shot my best friend’s wedding in 2006, then seeing them again when they shot my brother’s wedding in 2007. It’s always been a dream of mine to book a photo session with the inimitable duo so as you can imagine, I was beside myself with excitement yesterday.

First, Jaclyn is amazing.  A M A Z I N G.  Second, their studio is AMAZING.  A M A Z I N G.  Watching her in action was A M A Z I N G. I can’t wait to see the results from yesterday’s session!

After the session we grabbed a quick bite to eat and then stopped at the Oceanside Pier before heading home.

This is only the 2nd time the girls have been to the beach. Needless to say, they were super excited. They wanted to wanted to build a sand castle and look for sea shells and jump in the ocean –  a bit hesitant at first to step in the water, but they got over that fear pretty quickly.

And then they both got soaking wet. And Audrey got sand in her mouth. Definitely not their favorite part of the day. Next time I’ll be sure to have them dressed properly and it’ll be so much more fun. I hope they will believe me.

First can’t wait to see your photos! I want to take the boys to the Big White Box next time we are in town. Second – that last face is awesome. Third – you really need to get to the beach more 😉

Yes, I definitely need to get them to the beach more often. You are going to have so much fun at the big white box session Allison!

What an exciting day for you all! I am sure your photo session results will be top notch Liz, but I have to admit that your photography is exceptional in that you capture the very essence of your lives on the casual side and it is by far my favorite! Just look at those precious little pouty faces – they pull at my heartstrings!

Wishing you an early Happy Mother’s Day darlin’!

You are so sweet Linda, thank you!

I love these photos! What a fun day! I just took my 15 month old son to the beach for the first time yesterday. He was hesitant about the waves initially too!

One question: I have all of the rad actions already…do you find that RadLab is worth the investment if you already have the actions? Wondering if I should take the plunge?

Most definitely worth it. The instant view, the ability to combine different actions with a couple of clicks and the ability to save the “recipes” is such a HUGE time saver. It’s literally shaved hours off of my post processing time.

I blogged about the radlab features in more detail here: http://paisleepress.com/2011/11/before-after-photo-processing-with-radlab/

Your photos of Oceanside are wonderful. I just moved from San Diego to Seattle a few weeks ago, and these photos of the beach bring back lovely memories <3

San Diego to Seattle, wow what a change! Both beautiful cities!

You were in Oceanside, CA? By me? Did you guys see Junior Seau’s house, it’s right by the pier.

Love the pics can’t wait to see what you do with them! Love your work as you already know!

My favourite photobook template designer and the marvellous Jaclyn together? Wow! I can’t wait to see the result! 🙂
Although I love your photos and the way you process them too! Your girls are beautiful and love to see them growing!

I cannot wait to see those photos Liz and I love that little bandaid on your daughters knee. There’s something about boo boos on pretty little girls in pretty little dresses that I find adorable.
