project life | week of may 22nd

Right now I have multiple, partially completed, project life pages going.

This is the week of May 22nd. I actually started project life with this spread, but got stuck on the journaling and moved on to other pages because I was afraid I would lose momentum otherwise. I revisited this yesterday and am happy to report that I was finally able to finish it.

Here’s the left side.

I spent most of this week working on the paislee press site and ended up taking a lot of still life photos for the site pages.

The red label used here is this vintage black label stamp by purple onion designs.

Another funny thing that Audrey said moment recorded. This is one of the things I love most about project life. I’m more motivated now to write things down because I know it will end up in this album as opposed to an imaginary album that I hope to start one day.

Added an 8.5×11 insert (page protector by american crafts). Sometimes you only need a single photo to tell your story but in this case I felt the photos told a better story collectively so I printed out the entire series.  Plus, I have a thing for that photobooth look. I like that it captures her doing different things – looking down (which meant she was doodling or coloring), looking at the camera (smiling for the photo, or trying to engage me. I can hear her saying “mama?”) and then leaving her chair. That’s who she is right now, animated and active and always darting from one activity to another.

The right side.

On the other side of the 8.5×11 page protector is another paper layout. (WHAT?  I can hardly believe it myself. I will be doing a “makings of a layout” post for this page sometime next week).

Close up of the right side. We spent a good part of our day Saturday at South Coast Plaza. Everything on this page is from that day.

The journaling card spot was what had me stuck for weeks. And then yesterday inspiration struck! I took a cue from Ali Edward’s Week In the Life (she is using time as a journaling prompt this year) and printed out this timeline outlining the days activities. Thanks for the inspiration Ali.

Photos processed using Totally Rad Photoshop Actions.
