more than my whole life

Our 3 year old has been on a real competitive kick lately. (Is this normal?)

Going down the stairs. Look at me I’m faster than you Mommy!

At the dinner table. At this rate I’m going to finish eating before Mei Mei!

Getting ready in the morning. My hair is so long, the longest!

On love.

Mommy, I love you more.

To which I replied, I love you more than the mostest.

Not to be topped by me, she came back with, I love you more and more and more
(takes deep breath)
and more and more and more
(another deep breath)
and more and more and more
(deep breath again)
and more – more!
(pause)
More than my whole life. That’s how much I love you.

more than my whole life

My oldest is 7 going on 8. From what I remember of the 3 yes, he was competitive. Now it has evolved to almost I am smarter and can do things you do better, such as take better photos and such.

Sounds about right, yes. It just grows exponentially from here on out. Nicholas (at 10) basically thinks I'm a complete idiot.

This reminds me so much of my niece. We play a game of "I love you more" before she goes to bed.

"I love you."
"I love you more."
"No, I love you more."
"No, I love you more."

Then one day when she was about 3, I told her that I loved her to the moon. She immediately one-upped me by saying, "I love you to Pluto and back." Then she smirked.

Niece: 1, Auntie: zip.

P.S. I think the competitiveness is normal.

That sounds just like my 3½ year old one 🙂 So I guess that is normal. I really love your layout

Sus

Love the layout but what font did you use? Having a hard time finding it my forever ending list of fonts. 😀 thanks

That is really sweet. My mom and I used to have a little banter like that… she would say I love you more than ____, and I would say, "AND?" and she would say, "and I love you more than ___," and we would go on like that for as long as she could think of things (more than ice cream with cherries on top), until she finally ended it with, "I love you more than the whole wide universe." We still sign our cards to each other that way. 🙂

this is so sweet. love.

Oh my gosh, that is so sweet. So wonderful that you're scrapping these moments. I need to do this more!

Love it, kids always make you smile, keep you guessing, and wondering what you ever did before. Thanks for sharing your little moments with us!

Awww – My children and I have a similar conversation ..

Daughter : Mommy, I love you this much (arms stretched wide!)

Mommy : And I love you this much (Arms stretched wider!)

Son : But I love you all around the world!

Daughter : And I love more times around the world.

Son : But I love mom all around the sun even!

Mommy : Darlings…I love you twice around the sun and more!

And that has been our tag line ever since the children were toddlers. (Twice around the sun…and more!)

They are 12 and 13 now and we still say it!

Thanks for reminding me how wonderful these times are!

holly sweetness!

Oh my goodness.

Such a lovely memory to capture and record.

precious.

makes my heart melt xox

I sure hope it’s normal because my 3 year old is going through the exact same phase. That, and pushing over her 9 month old brother…

🙂
