Hot off the Press: my twentyten album

Photobucket

The photobook I made using Curated, the album kit I designed with Danielle of Kitschy Digitals, arrived a few days ago! I’m thrilled with the way it turned out and wanted to share the printed results with you.

My favorite spread from the album.

I’m really pleased with the way the colors printed – very true to what I saw on my computer monitor.

This is the album front. I love clean, crisp look of the plain white cover.

Simple text for the spine.

Are you sick of this photo yet? 🙂 I used it for the back cover of the book.

12×12 album printed at shutterfly

Originally, I was going to order through Blurb, but shutterfly had a 30% off + free shipping offer that I couldn’t pass up. I’ve ordered from both vendors before and have been happy with their services.

I’ve received several emails with inquiries about printing and how to go about choosing the a printing service. I’ve only ordered from blurb and shutterfly so my knowledge is limited to those two vendors. For those of you that are undecided, I highly recommend that you check out the photobook printing review written by Steph from The Daily Digi.

If you have questions about the uploading/ordering process for blurb or shutterfly, please post in the comments section below and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Wow! I am so impressed – with both the album and the fact that you've already got it finished and printed, and 2010 is not even over yet! I LOVED your album last year with the big photos next to the layouts, and I think this year's looks just as awesome! I am not a minimalist scrapbooker, but I really love how it looks put together with the large photos. Can't get enough of it! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Is it all digital or a hybrid project. The shadowing looks so real I can't tell. LOL
What font did you use.

What a beautiful album.

Love this! You did such a beautiful job. You truly make me want to give up paper-scrapping altogether. LOL.

But what about December? Christmas? Will that be a separate album?

This is simply gorgeous. I would love to try it, but the time involved is a little overwhelming to me…I use the boring Picture Only templates from MyPublisher and am always pleased with the results…but this is just so much more stunning!!!

Jenny, thank you!

Elaine – it's an all digital album. The font that I used is helvetica and courier new.

Reyanna – I love your paper scrapping. 🙂 I'm going to attempt December Daily to cover Dec + xmas. Hopefully I can stick it out to the end!

AshleyAnn – I like photo-only templates, can't go wrong with those! The quick pages from the curated album makes the scrapping part just as easy – just pop the photos into the photo window and you're done! no need to decorate, embellish since the quick page comes pre-designed.

That is so so pretty!! Besides the fact that your two little girls are so so adorable 🙂

okay, i'm still staring your blurb templates in the face….i'm having such a crazy hard time selecting photos for my 2010 book from my thousands! *sigh* love this new one, too!!!

You inspire me to get my book I have been working on printed very soon!! I have been doing a page a month for the whole year and cant wait to have it printed!!

Absolutely gorgeous book! What a treasure for your family to enjoy.
I have printed with MyPublisher.com and loved the service and quality. I created my own page templates for a 25th anniversary book of our business (fly-in fishing in Canada). I love your layouts and will have to take advantage of your hard work – going shopping…

Wow, your shadows are AMAZING! The photos on your favorite spread look like they are really curling off the page, TOO COOL! What a beautiful book.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! …andThat's All.

Your book is beautiful. Not sure I will have the guts to mix styles, but I think I'll try. I'm amazed how you pull it off. It adds a surprise element to the book in that you don't know what the next page will be. (One can't wait to turn the page to see.) Thanks too for the link to the photobook review – so much info. I love that the scrapbooking community is so willing to share.

Liz this is simply divine, you are really inspiring me to try Blurb, maybe over Christmas I can get started! Love this so much.

Lorraine

came to u via ashley's blog! u two are making me really wish i had beautiful like these to make an album!

this is really beautiful! you guys should design one that could be used for a whimsical wedding album!

completely love it

Love your work! It is so inspiring! I look at my countless photos and actually feel that I could display them in this beautiful manner!

This is great! Can you use the curated template for mypublisher books?

Hi Annie,

The dimensions of the curated templates are 12×12 square and I believe that mypublisher books dimensions are rectangular.

You can print with the curated templates using any photo vendor that offers square sized photobooks – my templates are sized at 12×12, but can be easily sized down to 10×10, 8×8, 6×6.

I know the following vendors offer square sized photobooks: shutterfly, blurb, adoramapix, asuka, whcc.

Nice! Can I ask what fonts you use for cover page and spine? thanks
