December Daily: Week One in Photos

I don’t have any layouts done yet for my December Daily/Journal Your Christmas Album. I started on them but now they’re on hold because I keep going back and forth on the album size. I really want to do the blurb 8×10 size because its an economical size and I can scrap as many pages as I want without worrying about how much it will cost to print but I just finished a 12×12 album so I’m still in square mode.

For now, I have the photos and the stories.

Day One: Hello December
Maddie, you’re all smiles because you’ve been spending lots of time with Daddy this week. Usually your time with him is limited to the early morning and evening hours and then you have to share his attention with your sister. But this week your Daddy’s on vacation so he’s been home all week and you are loving being showered with his undivided attention. It’s a treat for both of you really. At the end of the week he officially declared it, “the best vacation ever” because he got to spend so much time with you guys.

Day 2: Happy Birthday Daddy
The two of you gave Daddy the best birthday present ever: an impromptu happy birthday song and dance performance. We got it on video. One day we’ll play it back for you to see.

Then we dropped Audrey off at school and took Maddie to 3rd Street Promenade.

Day 3: Photobooth Friday

and a photo of them taking the photo 🙂

I love that my husband takes the time to randomly take photobooth pics with the girls. I think a photobooth themed album will be in the works soon.

Day 4: Audrey’s Story

“This [hockey stick looking drawing] is Mommy. This [green happy face] is Noemi. Daddy’s not in here because he’s at the grocery store buying things and that’s Audrey’s story.”

On the other side of the paper, a tracing of her hand.

Day 5: Holiday Dinner with Friends
We went to a holiday dinner party on Sunday. It’s the party that we look forward to every year. Over dinner, someone mentioned that we’ve been doing this since 2002. 2002! I can hardly believe that it’s been 8 years. Doesn’t seem like it’s been going on for that long but then again back in 2002, none of us were married let alone with kids, and now I can hardly remember what we were like back then. Sounds like such a parent cliche. Yes, I’ve become one of those parents. And you know what? I’m totally ok with it. Look at how much we’ve grown (with two more on the way):

Cute stuff; I sadly am being a bit of a slacker and haven't been taking many photos or writing. Probably will wind up with a summary page or something….no book this year.
