getting ready for halloween

Max and Maddie, photo taken last October

Last year I had grand visions of dressing Maddie up as Max from Where the Wild Things Are but ran out of time. This year is going to be different. The other day, my sister-in-law sent me a link to these amazing homecrafted max costumes (via ohdeedoh) and it totally inspired me.

This is the foundation of the costume. I couldn’t find a plain white pj sleeper so I went with basic pieces that she’ll be able to wear after halloween.

+ white felt for the claws, grey felt for the crown, and cat whiskers and tail to complete the costume. I also bought silver construction paper in case the grey felt doesn’t work out.

We’ll see how it turns out. Wish me luck!
