Ok, so, like something mind-blowing happened last night and I just have to share it with you or my head is going to explode. First, a little bit of history so you can understand why I’m going NUTS.
See this book? Clean & Simple Scrapbooking by Cathy Zielske.
In all the years that I’ve been scrapbooking, this is the only idea/design book I have ever purchased. For shame I know, there are so many great books that I need to add to my library, but I digress. Getting back to Cathy Z. I love her design philosophy – keeping the focus of our pages on the photographs, and treating text as a design element.
Eureka!
She made clean and simple look cool, and most importantly, she made it accessible and achievable for us non-graphic designing types. In short, Cathy Z has played a HUGE role in helping me evolve as a clean and simple scrapper. My design motto, embrace your inner minimalist, would not have come to fruition without Cathy Z.
For that I thank you, Cathy.
So getting back to last night.
It was, I don’t know, 8pm-ish last night? Emails started coming in with “omg” and “dude” and “HEY!!!!” in the subject line. And then I read:
“Cathy Zielske just talked about you during her chat at Renee TV tonight!”
And then this very intelligent stream of thought went through my head:
“omgomgomgomgNOWAYomgomgomgomgWHATomgomgomgomg
WHATDIDSHESAYomgomgomgomgOMGOMGOMGomgomgomg”
The fact that Cathy Z even knows that I exist is mind blowing for me. The fact that she said my name (and Cathy, in case you’re reading this, you said my name perfectly), well, that’s off-the-scale mind blowing. I still can’t wrap my head around it.

It’s a quickie so if you blink you might miss it. Concentrate. If you do have time I do highly recommend watching the whole thing because she’s charming and funny.
