lovelies + a list

You know what’s lovely? Having an inbox filled with emails about albums+scrapbooking+and all things craft. Nothing inspires me more than to read about your craft experiences or your excitement for starting one, so I thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to write and inspire me. I’m especially excited for those of you that are embarking on your own off to pressprojects and I cannot wait to see what you create! Over the past few days I’ve given a lot of thought about what tips+project how-tos to blog about. And, well….I got overwhelmed thinking about it all. So I did what I always do when I’m starting to feel overwhelmed. I made a list:

tips + how-tos
establishing an efficient filing system (reader requests)
how to scrap a certain type of photo
how to decide which photo(s) to use
photo post processing (reader requests)
project management (workflow)
text+journaling (reader request)
printing specifics
layout designs + templates (reader requests)

This is what I have so far. I’m not sure if all of these will make for informative blog posts, just brainstorming at the moment. I’m definitely going to do a write-up on the filing system. Will have that up soon. Maybe even as early as sometime tonight.
……….

ooooooooooh. Before I sign-off, I wanted to share this amazing layout created by ct member audrey neal.

Audrey created the layout using the mosaic template – press plate no. 25.
I love how she used selective tiles for photos, filled in other tiles with colored papers, and left others out completely. There’s a beautiful flow to her design. Isn’t she brilliant?

If you haven’t already picked up press plate no. 25, for a limited time it’s available as a free download in my shop.

enjoy!

wow I can't wait !!!! your album is fantastic, love all your product and lo, and I want learn more more more, you are soooo fabulous liz, thank you so much for all your work, it's sooo inspiring !!!!!

liz,
it's me again, melissa, the one that had trouble downloading the press plate. well, i've successfully downloaded it, and followed the directions in the tutorial, but i can't seem to figure out how to get my photos onto the mosaic. do you resize them before moving them and how do the 'rows' work. sorry to be a pest and if you don't have time to answer, i totally understand.
thanks so much and have a wonderful weekend!

Hey Melissa – I'm so glad you were able to get the template to download. The ROWS. I grouped the clipping masks in folders by ROW. So, is you're trying to access a clipping mask from the top row, go to the ROW 1 folder, click on it to reveal what's inside and navigate to the clipping mask you need. Regarding the photos, you can either choose to resize before adding it to the layout OR drop the photo into the layout and resize within the layout. Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

Love love love the freebie! I can't wait to use it. 🙂

I absolutely love everything you do!! I get so excited when you offer another template for us to use. I was thrilled to see this one, but I too am having some difficulties. I have never seen a template set up like this one before, with the rows. How do I get them ungrouped? I tried just clicking on it, but it only opens up "group Properties", I can't see each box separately. I am using PSE4, maybe that's why?? I would love some help. Sorry I am still learning!!! Thanks so much!!

Thanks so much, Liz!
I'm hoping to play around with it tonight or tomorrow, but my husband is sick so i have to navigate the ship alone! 😉

thanks barb!

michels1 – I just learned of the limitations of layer folders for PSE. I went ahead and created a PSE compatible version of the template (no folders!!) so you should be able to use the template now. The download link has been updated so please go ahead and download it again. Let me know if you have any other questions or issues.

melissa – can't wait to see what you do!

I just downloaded again and checked it out – It's AWESOME!!! Thank you so much!!! I hope to do something cool with it soon!! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. I so appreciate it!! Keep creating because we love it!!

hello liz, I could not wait that you go templates to shop, too impatient. I also wanted to benefit from the promo blurb (20% and free shipping). So it is I started, I dealt with 3 months of photo with a preset of lightroom, I started 4 days ago I'm already at 94 pages, so I may be making only the first two months …!! hihihi
You can watch a few pages on my blog, I am inspired by your book for maddie

Thank you you're a great inspiration for me, a fan of your work.
